I noticed unusual wear on my front driver’s side tire and after examining the rear tire on the same side, it was apparent the issue had been going on for a while. I contacted the service department on 3/23 and was told their alignment machine was down and they would call me when it was repaired. I finally called back on 4/11 and was given an appointment for 4/16. After waiting for over 2 hours, I was told their alignment machine wasn’t working and they had to take my truck to a local shop to get the alignment done. After waiting for another hour, I was told I would have to pay full price for an alignment that was obviously off when it came from the factory because the alignment shop said the factory tabs were still in place. When I asked about the wear on the tires and why it wasn’t noticed during rotations at my regular service intervals, the service rep said he had to fire the guy who did rotations because of things like that. Then when I asked why I had to pay full price for the alignment, he said that is what it cost them, even though he had quoted me less over the phone. Several issues here. 1. The alignment was obviously off from the factory. 2. The dealership has rotated the tires every time it was serviced and no one noticed the obvious issue. 3. I had to tell them about the issue and call them twice to get an appointment to resolve the issue, when they promised to call me back. 4. Now I have two tires with unusual wear that will cut the life of the tire by half. 5. I had to pay for the alignment plus extra for having to take it off site for repairs. 6. Finally, when I asked what the dealership would do about any of the issues, I was referred to GM to get assistance.
