Interior Comparison
While both models are eight-seat, three-row full-size SUVs, the 2024 Yukon has a third row that can easily accommodate adults. The 2024 Sequoia's third row can be cramped for adults. Furthermore, both vehicles offer an alternative seven-seat configuration. This swaps out the second-row bench seat for two captain chairs. The two individual seats have separate adjustment capabilities and armrests.
The 2024 Yukon also leads in terms of cargo capacity. With all three rows deployed, it has 25.5 cubic feet. Choosing the longer 2024 Yukon XL derivative gives you an amazing 41.5 cubic feet. Meanwhile, the 2024 Sequoia can only carry 22 cubic feet with all three rows deployed.
But that’s not all, as both vehicles have split-folding second and third rows. Hence, the 2024 Yukon can carry up to 145 cubic feet of cargo in XL form, with the second and third rows folded. The 2024 Sequoia can accept 87 cubic feet in the same configuration.
Higher trims of the 2024 GMC Yukon XL have premium hand-stitched leather upholstery, power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats, and tri-zone climate control. Buyers can also choose wood accents and a power-operated sliding front-center console.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard fitments for all trims of both models. Bluetooth® connectivity is also included. The 2024 Yukon also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, and buyers can choose a Bose premium speaker system. A wireless phone charging pad is optional for either model, as are rear entertainment systems and extra USB charging ports.

Performance Comparison
The 2024 Yukon range is available with three engines, depending on trim. Lower trims have a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims get a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 420 horsepower. This engine can be selected for some lower trims as well. Meanwhile, there’s an optional 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel 277 horsepower engine that produces 460 pound-feet of torque.
Some trims of the 2024 Yukon have rear-wheel drive but can be optioned with four-wheel drive. Others, such as the AT4 and Denali Ultimate, are exclusively four-wheel drive. An adaptive air ride suspension is standard for Denali Ultimate and optional on some other trims. Certain trims also get an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case. Meanwhile, a cat-back performance exhaust system is available, as is an electronic limited-slip differential.
The 2024 Yukon can tow up to 8,400 pounds, depending on trim and powertrain. Trailering equipment is standard and includes a trailer hitch, a 2-inch trailering receiver, and a 7-pin electrical connector.
The 2024 Toyota Sequoia has a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine paired with an electric motor called the iForce MAX powertrain. It can put out 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. There's no gas V8 or diesel engine option. A 10-speed automatic gearbox is standard, and four-wheel drive is available.
Safety Features Comparison
The 2024 GMC Yukon has a comprehensive suite of standard safety features. It comes with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning, and front pedestrian braking.
Higher trims add rear cross-traffic alert, side blind zone alert, and an HD surround-vision camera system. Adaptive cruise control is also available. The 2024 Toyota Sequoia comes with the Toyota Safety Sense™ suite, which offers many of these features.
