Interior Comparison

The 2024 GMC Acadia enters a new generation with a fully redesigned three-row interior that can accommodate up to seven occupants. It also presents a slick new styling direction and looks more attractive than the 2024 Pilot, which is a few years older. However, while the 2024 Pilot offers eight seats, it is more cramped, particularly in the third row. Hence, the 2024 Acadia is more comfortable for families. Specifying the optional panoramic sunroof for the 2024 Acadia will make the interior even more cheerful on pleasant days. Meanwhile, the active noise cancelation system that comes with every 2024 Acadia will keep the cabin environment as quiet and refined as possible.

All trims of the 2024 Acadia get a power-adjustable driver seat and heated front seats. They also include tri-zone automatic climate control with air vents for all three rows. Higher trims add ventilation to the front seats, and heated outboard second-row seats. The front passenger seat can also be specified with power adjustment capabilities.

Both three-row SUVs include Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, and Bluetooth®* connectivity choices for all trims. The 2024 Acadia also has a standard 11-inch digital gauge cluster to complement its luxurious 15-inch infotainment touchscreen. Conversely, the 2024 Pilot only has a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Furthermore, lower trims don’t come with a digital instrument cluster; higher trims have a 10.2-inch unit. Plus, every 2024 Acadia gets a 12-speaker Bose sound system. This is optional for higher trims of the 2024 Pilot. The 2024 Acadia can also be specified with a 16-speaker Bose Performance audio system to cater to discerning music listeners.

The 2024 Acadia’s winning streak continues into its cargo compartment. With 23 cubic feet of space, it has more than the 2024 Pilot’s 19 cubic-foot trunk. Furthermore, you can fold down the second and third rows of seats for more space. Higher 2024 Acadia trims get a one-touch power-folding third row as well. When both rows are folded, the 2024 Acadia provides 97 cubic feet. The 2024 Pilot has ten cubic feet less.

Performance Comparison

The 2024 GMC Acadia comes with a new 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This replaces the old V6 and provides more power. The engine is rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a smooth and intuitive 8-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive is standard, but buyers can choose all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, a drive mode selector is standard across the range. Front-wheel drive variants get Normal, Sport, Snow, Off-Road and Tow/Haul modes. All-wheel drive variants add an AWD mode.

Buyers who seek more off-road capability can choose the AT4 trim. This has a special Active Torque Control all-wheel drive system, which enables real-time torque vectoring via a twin-clutch rear axle. It also comes with skid plates for underbody protection and an off-road-optimized suspension. Furthermore, it has extra ground clearance and gets a Trail mode for the drive selector.

In contrast, the 2024 Pilot’s 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 only makes 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. However, it uses a 10-speed automatic transmission to send power to the front wheels. Buyers can also opt for Honda’s i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system. There’s also a TrailSport trim with increased ride height, underbody protection, and stronger suspension.

Safety Features Comparison

Every 2024 GMC Acadia gets a forward collision alert, blind zone steering assist, and automatic emergency braking. It also includes front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, rear cross-traffic braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Rear park assist and a rear pedestrian alert system are also standard. Higher trims can be equipped with GM’s SuperCruise system. This offers adaptive cruise control capabilities with semi-autonomous driving. Available options include a surround-view camera system. Meanwhile, the 2024 Pilot has many, but not all, of these features.
